[Review] CALMIA Silky Perfect Foot Peeling Pack + First Impression

Are you a fan of foot dead skin peeling? It might sounds a bit odd, but no doubt I am!

Today I'm going to share my first impression after using Calmia's Silky Perfect Foot Peeling Pack.

Product Description

The Silky Perfect Foot Peeling Pack is formulated with these star ingredients:

• AHA - aid to gently peel away dead skin cells for renewed and smooth skin
• Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid and Snail Extract - moisturize and plump out dry, cracked feet
• Orange Oil - moisturize and deodorize dry feet

If you haven't try any foot peeling pack before, don’t be alarmed when you see the skin starts peeling. This is absolutely normal, and you just have to wait for them to come off on their own. It shouldn't be causing you any pain, unless you peel them yourself by force.

Application

Open up essence packet and pour into paper booties provided (as below), then wear onto feet and secure by tying up the strings. Leave on for 1 ~ 1.5 hours. Once time's up, remove and rinse your feet with water. Dry off with a towel.

Personal Experience

The pack serves it's purpose. There is sign of peeling off around 2 days after the application. The whole peeling process took me 1 week. The result is noticeable.

What I'm not-so-impressed would be its scent. Just like hair dye, you won't want to go near because the scent is a bit unpleasant to smell. But not to worry, because you don't normally go and sniff your toes, right? If yes, just bear not to for 1 hour (heh).

[Review] The Body Shop - Olive Cream Body Scrub / Olive Exfoliating Cream Body Scrub

Today I wish to share with you my current body scrub from The Body Shop.

The Body Shop's Olive Exfoliating Cream Body Scrub | 200ml / 6.9 oz. (196g)

You may noticed the one I am currently using is not the latest packaging. What is important is the goodness inside is remains the same!

Frankly, I don't do body scrub on a consistent basis. I only do whenever it is needed; for instance, when I find my skin is dry and dead skin is overlapping.

 

This product is mainly made of organic olive oil, the "liquid gold" of the Mediterranean, has been used for thousands of years in cosmetics, cooking and as an offering to the gods (source: The Body Shop).

One thing I adore about The Body Shop is that they made their ingredient list easily accessible. Particularly, The Body Shop is famously known for against animal testing.

What I love about this body scrub is its buttery, smooth and non-drying texture.

One thing for sure, you can observe its prominent olive scent once you opened it. Honestly, I didn't like it at first, but I got used to it by now. :')

Now I am going to show you the texture on the back of my hand.

Instead of apply to damp skin, I am directly applying it on my skin.

In circular motion, massage it thoroughly and watch the body butter melts.

The exfoliant they used here is Oryza sativa (Rice). Look at these tiny brownish particles (as below). Both the buttery formulation and gritty exfoliant perfectly compliment each other. It does the job (exfoliation) yet gentle on the skin.

The back of my hand looks smoother and brighter after the short treatment!

As per instruction, it is recommended to sse two to three times a week as regular exfoliating and massaging can help tone and firm the skin. (source: The Body Shop)

In summation, I will continue to use this body scrub as I think it quite a decent product for mild exfoliation (not for stubborn dead skin exfoliation, i.e. dead skin under your feet). Until and unless I found a substitution.

[Review] NH Detoxlim - Colla Plus Advance (Trial + First Impression)

A bit of a change. I'm gonna share with you a different kind of product review. It's something you can drink for your skin, instead of applying on your body.

Probably you have came across this brand before in Malaysia. It is widely available at Watson, a drugstore chain.

NH Detoxlim's Colla Plus Advance (50 ml x 6 bottles)

Surprisingly, thou this product is alleged manufactured by Japanese company (under the licence of Ikoda Bio Co. Ltd. Tokyo), this brand is actually originated from Malaysia (under Herbalceutical (M) Sdn. Bhd.).

Why I ended up purchasing this collagen drink?

Frankly speaking, I wasn't targeting on it at first. So happened I noticed there is a PWP event at Watson where this trial package is selling at half price, which is RM28.20, provided you purchase above RM30 and/or purchase any Watson's merchandise.

I thought RM4.70 per bottle of collagen drink is rather cheap. Both my colleague and I we went back and do a some research about it. Then we decided on the next day to give it a try (why not?).

Okay so why drink collagen drink?

My concern is, what I'm applying to my skin is just on the surface. What about the inner skin? It sounds really fancy to beautify your skin from inside out - inner shine. And how good if it really delivers what it claims?

This is my first time consuming collagen drink. I was a little bit anxious about the taste when I looked at the ingredient list.

To my surprise, it isn't that bad after all. Not sure for you, but to me, it tastes more like mango than passion fruit (heh). Well, maybe the last bit in a gulp would taste like fish oil, just have a sip of water and the unpleasant taste will fade off in a sec.

The recommended dosage for the first 6 days is to consume a bottle daily on an empty stomach or before bedtime.

What I did for the next 6 days was to consume a bottle every morning before breakfast.

What do I observe after the 6-day course?

If you ask whether do I observe significant skin improvement? Not actually, well what do you expect within just 6 days?

Well, I do observed that my skin is smoother and softer after the trial course. (Can I say for sure it's because of this collagen drink?) No, I can't say for sure as I was trying out some other skincare products at the moment.

Would I purchase full size package? To be honest, I'm not looking into collagen drinks at the moment. Throughout this 6-day trial course, I was really excited every morning when I woke up and look forward to see skin improvement, and I enjoyed the whole process.

Even though I can't observe significant improvement fortnightly, but I believe these are good stuffs and good for our body if you consume for a long period.

So if you have some extra money to spare, I would recommend you to try out this short trial course (depends on the stock availability) then decide whether to purchase full size or not.

[Review] Medi Heally - Waist Warm Pack

Today I'm gonna share with you something different from usual.

It's not skincare nor makeup product. It's a waist warm pack.

Most girls should be able to relate to the functionality of this product. For me, I always suffer from waist pain during menstruation, which is caused by menstrual cramps. Feels like dying every month (duhh).

Then I came across this product on Althea (click here) whereby they labeled it as one of the editorial's pick of the season/trendy items.

During the past, I was told to use hot water bag to relief the menstrual cramps. It really helps. I believe they work in the same theory.

I bought it for RM13 from Althea website 2 months ago. Been using it for 2 months now.

From its packaging, it says the warm pack could lasts for a good 8 hours. Yes, it is what it claims. I put on one before going to work, and I can still feel a bit of its warmness after work.

Its fragrance is made up of lavender, rose, geranium, yiang yiang and fennel. Very pleasant and soothing.

There are 2 individual waist warm pack inside the box packaging.

First off, you need to peel off the stickers on the front and the back of the warm pack.

Attach the back (the adhesive side) of the warm pack onto your pants. Do not apply it directly on your skin as instructed on its product description.

In conclusion, I'm deeply in love with this product as it really helps to relief back pain caused by menstrual cramps. Highly recommend this waist warm pack to those whose suffer the same discomfort as I do.
