[Monthly Project] #34 Products That I've Finished in 2019 Part II

Monthly Project (June 2019)

#34 Products That I've Finished in 2019 (so far) Part II

It's only two months from my last emptied post, and I am already finished quite some products (more to come!)

Guess that's one of the many motivations (for me personally) in order to rationalize my beauty purchase. I try to finish products in order to purchase more (what a shopaholic!).

What you can expect from this post:
  • Products which I have emptied or discarded in year 2019 (so far);
  • Worth purchasing, or not.

Monthly Project; #34 Products That I've Finished in 2019 Part II

In this episode of product emptied, most of them are sheet masks. I can totally see the difference when I do sheet mask 2~3 times in a week, compared to once or none.

If you are planning to purchase one of these products below, I hope this will be informative and helpful. :)

[Review] Breena Beauty x Hermo - Alluring Diamond Sponge

Hello everyone! :)

I haven't been talking much about makeup tools on the blog, reason being that I find blogging in words is hard to describe or explain a makeup tool.

For a breakthrough, today I am going to share with you the makeup sponge which I got from the collaboration between Breena Beauty and Hermo.

Brunei

Brunei

Brunei

[Cafe Hoping] T4 (Tea For U) Miri

Hello everyone!

During this trip in Sarawak, my sister introduced us a Taiwanese milk tea shop
by the name of "T4", which is the abbreviation for "Tea For U).

Their signature colour theme is in Tiffany blue.

We went to two outlets during this trip.

Boulevard Commercial Centre

- Operating Hours : 11AM to 10PM
- Contact : +6085-423-088

T4 (Tea For U) 清茶達人, Miri

Mega Emart, Riam

- Operating Hours : 11AM to 10:30PM

T4 (Tea For U) 清茶達人, Miri

T4 (Tea For U) 清茶達人, Miri

When I first heard about this milk tea shop, I was quick to judge.
There are so many milk tea shops nowadays, I thought, well, no big deal.

BUT!!!!!
It was like a hit on my head after I tried their drinks.

Especially their Cheese Cream Green Tea.
OMGGGGG!

And it's only selling for RM8.80 per cup?
Tell me where can I get the same thing in Kota Kinabalu??
NO WHEREEEE

T4 (Tea For U) 清茶達人, Miri
(left: Cheese Cream Green Tea, RM8.80; right: Amber Pearl Latte, RM9.80)

Not gonna lie,
I was literally hunting down T4 for the rest of the trip,
which explains why we visited another outlet at Riam.

Bad timing I would say, by the time we reached there,
the staff told us they ran out of cheese cream (起司盖) topping.
If we were to wait, it could take 15 minutes to prepare.

The staff was really friendly and approachable.
In exchange, he kindly asked if he could suggest us to take milk cream topping (奶盖) instead.
The difference is milk cream topping would taste less in cheese flavour.

I wouldn't leave without a drink,
so we take his recommendation.

T4 (Tea For U) 清茶達人, Miri
(left: Cream Crown Green Tea, RM7; right: Honey Peach Royal, RM5.80)

Just like what we were told,
the milk cream topping (or what they called "cream crown") tastes very much alike,
only less strong in cheese flavour.
Well, I really don't mind tho. Love them both!

Funny thing is, this brand is no stranger to Peninsular Malaysia nor Sarawak,
but why we don't have it in Sabah???

Personally I would favour T4 mostly because they offer lower drink price
compared to other milk tea shops while their quality remains in par.
So why not?

If you haven't try anything from T4,
definitely recommend if you come across this milk tea shop in your area.

That's all for now.

[Restaurant] Excapade Japanese Cuisine, Bintang Megamall, Miri

Good evening everyone!

Little did I know, this Japanese restaurant is quite a household name in both Brunei and Sarawak.

Miri

Good evening everyone!

Instead of the usual food courts concepts in shopping malls,
do you know that Miri has a lot of food courts in shoplots?

Today I am going to introduce you a rather new food court,
so happen it is located 3-mins drive from our stay.

It's Gen2Gen, better known as 代代香传飲食坊 in Chinese.

- Address : Opposite Airport, Miri, Sarawak
- Facebook -

Yes, I did it again... forgot to take the front view of the food court... urgh :s

The food court area is consists of four shoplots.
About 10 to 15 food stalls inside.
From Sarawak kolok mee, to Hong Kong style chicken rice, to buns and pastry... you name it.

I won't bore you with long introduction.
Let's see what they have inside. Come!

Miri

Miri

It never fails to amaze me that you can actually buy a bowl of mee with just RM3!!
Of course, the portion is smaller than usual, but still.
If you are a small eater, I think you will be full with a cup of coffee.
Kolok mee from this stall is a bit dry, but I don't mind because taste wise, it's okay.

- Homemade Steam Rice Rolls with Pork

Miri

Freshly made upon order.
The steamrice rolls are very thin and soft..
Along with the soy sauce and minced pork, lovely dish!!!
Definitely want for more! :9
This is from the stall beside Sarawak Kolok Mee.

Miri

Miri

"Manicai" is also known as the vege which we call "Sabah sayur manis 树仔菜".
It's something new to me as I never encounter this dish before.
To be honest, I don't find it any special after tasting it.
Just okok.

Miri

Miri

"Ding Bian Hu" is a kind of traditional Hokkien food.
It's similar to porridge, but only they use rice cake instead of rice.
First time trying this as well.
The taste of white pepper is a bit strong.
Besides that, I think it is very much like porridge.
Worth the try, but not quite my taste.

Miri

Miri

Another traditional Hokkien food.
It smells very similar to Bak Kut Teh, as you can probably tell by the colour of its soup base.
Taste wise, it's much lighter and subtle than Bak Kut Teh.
A dish that consists of Kuey Teow, pork meat and half a hard boiled egg.
I know it is not comparable to Bak Kut Teh,
but I would prefer the that than Kuey Chap.

- Roasted Duck 烧鸭 and BBQ Pork 烧肉, RM10 -

Miri

Miri

Just aim for food tasting, we asked if they could serve the meat without rice.
And this is how a RM10 portion looks like (as above).
Roasted duck and BBQ pork are some of my personal favourite.
I would say, the food taste good and the price is reasonable.
If you are not so adventurous on trying new food, this stall here is worth trying.

- Kompia 光饼, RM3/3 pieces -

Miri

A local delicacy from Sibu, Sarawak.
Bun roasted in kiln and cut half to be filled with minced pork.
If you haven't try this before, do give it a chance.
Since it is fresh from the oven, I think it tastes better.

- Assorted Traditional Chinese Small Bites, RM3/3 pieces -

Miri

Miri

Miri

For those who wants to grab fresh bread or pastry, there is a bakery shop inside.
The Twin Brothers Patisserie.

Miri

Drink stall is located in the middle of the food court.
Order and pay at the counter.

The day has only just started, yet we had so many and different kinds of dishes already.
Full and satisfied.

My personal picks are the Homemade Steam Rice Rolls, Roasted Duck and BBQ Pork.

All the food above mentioned represent the local eateries,
and I would recommend you to give it a try, at least.
Better if this is your first time visiting Sarawak.

That's all for now.

[Restaurant] A Bui Kitchen, Boulevard Commercial Centre, Miri

Good evening everyone!

Yesterday we went to local restaurant which serve good homely food at really reasonable price!
Can't wait to share this with you here.

It's A Bui Kichen at Boulevard Commercial Centre.

- Address : 2436, 2431, Jalan Boulevard 2a/1, Boulevard Commercial Centre, 98000 Miri, Sarawak.
- Operating Hours : 10AM - 2:30PM, 5PM - 10PM (closes on Mondays)
- Contact : 010-981 3577

According to my sister, currently they have four (4) outlets in Miri. Impressive!

Probably too exhausted throughout the drive,
it slipped my mind to take photo of the restaurant itself.. urgh :s

Boulevard Commercial Centre, Miri

The photo above was taken from the restaurant,
showing the building opposite.

The restaurant has both indoor (air-conditioned) and outdoor (open air) dining.
It was packed with customers by the time we arrived.

Without further adieu, let's dive into the food!

- Pineapple Fried Rice, RM10 -

Dinner at A Bui Kitchen, Boulevard Commercial Centre, Miri

Taste wise, it has strong in turmeric flavour with a glimpse of pineapple sweetness.
Personally I'm okay with it, for a home kitchen food.
Well it will be better if they add more cube pineapples.
Also, it will be great if they could add green or red capsicum for a color mix food presentation.

- Wet Butter Milk Chicken (medium size), RM18 -

Dinner at A Bui Kitchen, Boulevard Commercial Centre, Miri

Dinner at A Bui Kitchen, Boulevard Commercial Centre, Miri

Buttery taste is on point!
We were shook by the big serving.
Good for 3 pax sharing.

- Monggu Pork (medium size), RM18 -

Dinner at A Bui Kitchen, Boulevard Commercial Centre, Miri

Dinner at A Bui Kitchen, Boulevard Commercial Centre, Miri

This dish is better known as Mongolian Pork.
I'm expecting the dish to taste more of the turmeric spice,
but this one tastes very similar to the Wet Butter Milk Chicken earlier.
If we are visiting the restaurant again,
I would prefer two meat dishes that are distinctive in flavour.
Again, the portion is big enough to share among 3 pax.

- Stir Fried Bittergourd in 3 eggs, RM8 -

Dinner at A Bui Kitchen, Boulevard Commercial Centre, Miri

What does it mean by "3 eggs"?
They are represent by chicken egg, salted duck egg and century duck egg.
This is one of their signature dish.
The bittergourd is cooked well with balance flavour.
Worth trying.

- Stir Fried sweet potato leaves with garlic, RM10 -

Dinner at A Bui Kitchen, Boulevard Commercial Centre, Miri

Classic green dish. Soft and a bit gluey because of its natural plant collagen.
Tip: Eat when its hot.

Overall the food is above average, for a homely food per say.
Price wise, it's very reasonable if you are sharing among a group.

Definitely recommend if you are after classic everyday meal,
or during the day when mum is not cooking.

That's all for now.

June 5 Road trip to Brunei and Miri starts

Hello everyone! :)

This Raya holiday, our family is heading to Miri, Sarawak for a short getaway.
The road journey will lead us to Brunei since two countries are on the same continent.

Mum and I flipped back the photo album which we took on our last visit to Brunei.
It was 5 years ago! 😲
Our family we went there for Chinese New Year back then.
The difference was that we traveled by plane ✈, and now we are driving across the countries.

The road condition in both Sarawak and Brunei truly amazed us (not kidding).
Such a big contrast when you compared with the road in Sabah...🤔

This journey is going to take us about 8 hours (including rest time in between), around 330km.
Are we ready for this?

YES I AM!!! 😎
I love to drive and this is a breakthrough to be able to drive cross-country. Excited!!!

***

Fast forward after 9 hours (due to some delay at custom check points),
we have safely arrived Curtin University, Miri, Sarawak!!! 🙏🏻

Reason why we are here is to pick up our youngest member,
yeap, my youngest sister 🐱.

Here's how the view like from her hostel.

Just in time to catch the sunset 🌇.

As our journey goes, I will write up on the restaurant and food we had along the trip.
So stay tuned! 🤓
