[Review] Nature Republic Bamboo Charcoal Mud Pack

Welcome back again! Today we are in our last week of August theme - cleansing! ^0^

I have a combination of dry and oily skin (T-zone). During my secondary schooling years, I was quite troubled with acne and spots. Thank God, trough time, it is getting better (partly could be caused by hormones as well).

For those who are also concern about oily skin as I do, this is for you :)

Nature Republic Bamboo Charcoal Mud Pack 150ml

Guess you should have heard alot about charcoal getting rid off oil substance. Advertisement nowadays are selling this. Plus bamboo, I'm feelin' getting nearer to nature nowwww (just fooling around XD)

I bought this from Hermo for RM19.90 (during promo season). It costs around RM26 to RM40 during normal time (Do stay tuned for more value buy!)

There is a slight powdery scent once you opened the tube cover. As you squeeze it out, you can find black-slippery mud, but slightly more moisture.

As for application, it's very easy.

(1) After finishing your usual cleansing routine, use a towel to wipe off excess water on your face
(2) Apply generous amount on your skin (avoiding areas around eyes and mouth)
(3) Leave it for about 10 to 15 mins until the mud dried
(4) Wash off with water

Very straight forward, right? ^^

Before and After

So this is what I observed. Since the second usage, the mud pack tube package gets harder to squeeze the mud out. Is it because the mud inside dries out? I don't know. Still observing at the moment...

I can noticed obvious result around my nose, forehead and chin. When the mud dries out, you can observe my face is mostly covered in grey color, whereas certain black spots (somewhat like oil spots) wouldn't turn into grey, even leaving it for 30 mins! I assume that's where the oil spots located. Try to take note and avoid apply too much skin care products over these areas.

It feels so much refreshing after doing this. I recommend doing this in alternative days, focusing on the oil spots areas (don't need to be full face), to keep acne away!

[Review] Skin Food Black Sugar Mask Wash Off + Black Sugar Perfect First Serum 2X Essential

Hello hello there! Welcome back to our theme of the month - cleansing! ^0^

In continuation from last week, I am going to introduce another skin cleansing product from Skin Food. I find it very interesting whereby Skin Food literally name all of its products using a list of food names. Last week, it was Pineapple Peeling Gel; and today we have Black Sugar Mask Wash Off. Feelin' have a cup of black tea with sugar today? :D

Skin Food Black Sugar Mask Wash Off 100g

First impression while I was looking at the product online, by its packaging, I was confused how 100g would look like? Would it be enough for me? Does it worth the money?

Less assured guys. This is TOTALLY MORE THAN ENOUGH. I bought it from Althea for RM26, and when I received my online shopping parcel, I literally can't believe my eyes. 100g is ALOT mann... And seriously, you don't need much for one application. And since it is a facial scrub, you don't need it everyday. So, it's fine.

Remember I was sharing about Peeling Gel last week? This gonna be the opposite of it. These black sugar particles are literally like real sugar: hard and smells sweet. Take a small amount and apply it on your skin, you can feel the roughness of the black sugar, and it soon dissolves and melt into your skin. Yummm...

How to use it? It's simple.
(1) After cleansing, take appropriate amount and massage onto damp face (avoiding the eyes and mouth areas) **Note: Pat water/toner onto your face to reduce irritation while massaging
(2) Leave it for 10 to 15 mins to absorb
(3) Rinse off with water

From the color you can tell it is more to brownish-black. Once applied it on my face, it toned down my skin color and straight away I look like I got a serious suntan @@ OMO

Remember that your skin absorbs better after scrub cleansing? For instance, I will apply serum from the same series - Black Sugar, which promotes nutritious and transparent skin. I really really like this serum. The smell reminds me abit of traditional rice wine, which is mild and pleasant. This is the product I would repurchase and recommend for any skin type :)

Well honestly the mask wash off is quite an average product (as compared to the Peeling Gel we mentioned last week). However, I really enjoy using the serum and observe better skin condition. Overall, Skin Food did change my thought for its skin care products, and definitely I would pay more attention to this brand from now on.

[Review] Skin Food Pineapple Peeling Gel

Hello there!^^ Welcome back to our theme of the month - Cleansing \\^0^//

How much do you know about cleansing? Do you know that dead skin cells will block up the pores and also block your skin from absorbing good stuffs that you apply?

Many of us heard about scrub cleansing cream. Its is commonly used for skin exfoliation whereby to scrub away the dead dull skins. However, many commented that scrub-type with those small particles might be too harsh for our skin and cause irritation.

So here we have for an alternative - peeling gel. And today I'm going to introduce this...

Skin Food Pineapple Peeling Gel 100ml

I bought it from South Korean last February during roadshop haul. As I've already heard how peeling gel works better than usual scrub, literally I went into Skin Food's shop just to buy a bottle of this, to mark a tick on my purchase list. Oh ya, I bought it for 7,900KRW (roughly RM28).

As you can observe from the photo above, its texture is really soft and jelly-ish, a bit water-ish. Once you apply it on your skin (must be dry skin, DO NOT pad water on it), gently massage in a circular motion for skin exfoliation. Soon then you will get lots of particles (somewhat looks like white rubber peels) all over the place you massaged. In fact, they are the dead skin cells being exfoliated. Whoo-hoo, feelin' so refreshing now~!

Then wash off with lukewarm water. I just "can't keep my hands to myself", opss, what I mean is my face after doing this (LOL) ^v^ So smooth and tender...

Now look at the time. Without further due, apply your most-expensive (or I mean, the BEST) skin care product, because this is the time your skin absorbs better. You can either do this as a morning routine, or night. I usually do it fortnightly (once per two weeks) in order to observe more obvious result (more dead skin cells being exfoliated).

[Review] Habalan Pobling Pore Sonic Cleanser

Welcome to the month of August! This month I'm planing to write about a series of cleansing products and tool. Let's get started~! :D

So I'm gonna start-off with this handy cleansing tool - Pobling Pore Sonic Cleanser!^-^

Habalan Pobling Pore Sonic Cleanser

A little intro before I begin. My now-colleague, Janet, is the one who first introduced me to the world of online shopping (is it a good or bad thing? just kidding heh) Thanks to her, I have been exposed to various kind of products throughout this 10 months. In fact, she first bought this Pobling Pore Sonic Cleanser, and I waited her to give me recommendation whether or not to purchase one for myself (she is much adventurous than I am for sure!)

Coming to get to know about this product, Pobling is an advanced sonic vibration cleanser to effectively cleanse our skins, especially those hard-to-reach or uneven areas of the face, such as around nose. Its ultra-fine brush is very soft, and with its 10,000 vibration/min, it makes the ideal cleansing tool not just to cleanse our skin, but also prepares our skin for better absorption of nourishing skin care products later on.

I kept on wondering why they named it "Pobling", and I think it meant "pore-bling" in short. Do you agree? :D

There are lots of discussion about identifying real and fake Pobing Cleanser online. Disclaimer: Today I am not to share with you about this technique ('cause apparently I still don't know how to differentiate them @@). All I know is, there is a serial number on the product, and you can search it online to check whether it is genuine or not (if you are keen to know; I don't XD).

I bought my Pobling Cleanser from Althea.kr for RM82, and I 100% believe it is genuine (no why, merely by faith...?) 'cause Althea sells only genuine products. (keep it up, Althea team! hehet)

Wookay. Do you know how to use Pobling Cleanser? You don't? (Are you kidding??
Waittt, I mean it's alright ;) Here's how we use it.

(1) Run the Pobling Cleanser under running water for 2~3 seconds and make sure it is wet enough
(2) Squeeze your cleansing foam/lotion onto the brush (don't need to put too much, just the amount you use usually
(3) Brush you face using the Cleanser in circular movement until every part of your face is cleansed (you may want to pay more attention to area around nose and chin)
(4) Wash your face thoroughly with water
(5) Wash the Pobling Cleanser until the form is fully washed away and keep it in an upright position at all times (you may do it by using the product stand provided

While they recommend best to use 2-3 times a week, I use it everyday as my evening cleansing routine (provided I am not feelin' lazy that day).

Oh ya, it requires an AAA battery in order for it to function. Got it?

Worried that the brush head gets dirty along the way? No worries, you can always buy a new brush head replacement. Yay!

As for me, I really find it useful and that's why I'm still using it daily. Just only ONE little thing that troubles me. Roughly 4 months after my purchase, I find the motor (supposed to create vibration) is not working anymore ;_____; Since then I have been using it as a normal non-vibrating brush cleanser. Feels like it has lose 50% of its functionality already T^T

Overall ratings:
Price             ★★★★☆
Durability      ★★☆☆☆
Functionality  ★★★★★

Overall, I still think its a good purchase. Maybe you will think I am exaggerating here, but I would suggest people who really put much importance on cleansing routine should purchase one, and you will not regret. After all, cleansing is the foundation of healthy skin! *wink wink*
