[Monthly Project] #20 March to June 2018 Empties!!

Monthly Project (February 2018)

#20 March to June 2018 Empties!!!

Four months later since my last empties post. Time long enough to emptied an amount of products in order to share with you here.

I think sharing product empties is a way to consolidate my final thoughts toward these products (whether worth buying or not). Fair enough to say so because I've already emptied them.

If you are planning to purchase one of these products below, I hope this will be informative and helpful. :)

What you can expect from this post:
  • Products which I have emptied or discarded in the past 4 months;
  • Worth purchasing, or not.

[Terengganu] Relaxing East Coast 5D4N Getaway Day 5.1 Check Out Airbnb●Madam Bee's Kitchen●Bound to KK

Terengganu Relaxing East Coast 5D4N Getaway

May 31, 2018 (Thursday)

Good Morning! :)

It's the last day of our trip. :') I am a kind of person who constantly struggles with saying goodbyes. A bunch of good friends, good vibes... It gets emotional, you know.

Besides our room doesn't have a window (which is a bit stuffy), overall our stay at this Airbnb was okay.

It has everything we need, and it feels super homely.

Our schedule today is simple: brunch and airport (they will be sending me off first). We left the accommodation at around 11:30AM.

Breakfast at Madam Bee's Kitchen

Our breakfast location today is Madam Bee's Kitchen - a restaurant which serves a variety of Terengganu specialties.

The restaurant is located at Chinatown Market - the place we went yesterday.

Hyeon's Travel Journal; Madam Bee's Kitchen

The restaurant itself is smaller than we thought, which can fits about 6 small round tables. A crowd of about 15 people who came later than us have to sit outside, at the corridor.

So what do we have here? :D

Looks good. Shall we order one each? :9 I'm hungryyy

My personal favourite is their Nasi Lemak MBK (no idea what does it stands for but anyway). :9 The ayam rendang was fantastic! The chicken is just the right tender texture and so much flavour... Love it!

Nasi Kerabu is my second favourite. Mostly because of the ayam rendang too!

My least favourite was the Steam Keropok Lekor. :x Perhaps we should just stick to the deep fried type.

Happy faces because food is served~

The entire bill costs us RM55.60, including 4 drinks. Considered reasonable since we get to try out a variety of food~ YAY

Sultan Mahmud Airport, Terengganu

Hey buddy, it's time to say bye-bye~ It was a wonderful and fun road trip with y'all~ :D

From Chinatown Market to Sultan Mahmud Airport (TGG) takes about 20 minutes without traffic. I arrived at the airport at 1PM.

After dropping me at the airport, my friends they continue the journey, heading off to KL. Sayonara~

I was super early as my flight only boarding at 3PM. Might as well tour around to kill some time.

The interior design of this airport truly represents Malaysia and I'm lovin' the creativeness!

Well in terms of size, of course you can't compare TGG airport to KLIA1 and KLIA2...  This is rather smaller. So don't expect you can shop like heaven here :p Also they have a limited choice of restaurants.

My flight is quite on-time (thankfully!... seriously I'm just too bored as no one to talk to for the past 2 hoursss).

Hyeon's Travel Journal; Sultan Mahmud Airport (TGG)

Can't wait to be at home now... :D

Hyeon's Travel Journal

The flight takes 1 hour to reach KLIA, and I am bound for Kota Kinabalu in an hour later. The flight connection is perfect. HOWEVER... Another story is that, the airline failed to transfer my checked-in baggage. (What the... speechless) Eventually they delivered my baggage to my house the next day. End of story.

---THE END---

Thank you for reading until the end!!! You're awesome pal~~~ :D :D :D

If you are planning a holiday trip, hope you have a pleasant journey ahead~ xoxo

High Tea at On The Way Kopitiam

After "hunting down" for mural arts in between the streets in Chinatown Market, it's a call for rest and a cup of tea.

Hyeon's Travel Journal; Chinatown Market Terengganu

At this point of time, we are actually at the back of a cafe named "On The Way Kopitiam". It is located behind this beautiful bridge (below).

And this is how the front of the cafe looks like (below).

Off we go! :)

It has a variety of snacks and drinks you can pick from, Local to Western. The food price is relatively cheaper compared to both KL and KK.

We decided to order a few of their signatures and share among ourselves, so that we can try a variety of it.

It's time to bid goodbye to this place~ It was a fruitful adventure here at Chinatown Market! If you haven't visit here, definitely check out here on your next trip! ;)

Check In to Airbnb (Megat's family of Jalan Megat Panji Alam)

This is my first time booking accommodation from Airbnb (clap clap clap). We thought it is unnecessary to stay in hotel for just 1 night, but instead we could save up on the accommodation while experience the local culture.

We got this great deal from Airbnb whereby the whole house (2 bedrooms, fully-equipped kitchen and water heater) for just RM108! Divided into 4 pax, it is RM27 per pax for 1 night.

From Chinatown Market to our stay is about 20 minutes drive. We took longer to arrive as we missed a small turning.

Just so happened the owner's mum is just staying at the ground floor, while we rented the second floor. She is a kind lady who gave us several suggestions on our dinner whereabouts.

Upon arrival, we quickly unpacked our bags and freshen up ourselves after a long journey.

Late Dinner at Panaroma Cafe

Since we had high tea earlier, we didn't feel hungry although it's the usual time for dinner. We literally just skipped our dinner.

By 9PM, we drove out in search for food. Unfortunately, Ramadan Bazaar is all closed by this hour.

We searched online for dinner recommendations, and this came out.

"Romantic dinner with panorama view on the mountain", sounds legit to me. Shall we give it a try?

Hyeon's Travel Journal; Panorama Cafe

Hyeon's Travel Journal; Panorama Cafe

In fact, the cafe is named after the mountain, which is Bukit Panorama. It is located in the city center, not like what we expected that it to be way out of town.

Hyeon's Travel Journal; Panorama Cafe

We were shocked upon arrival. There isn't any customer (at all seriously)! Are we at the right place, or?

From the photo itself, it seemed to me it should be a great place for casual hangouts, but.. why?

Hyeon's Travel Journal; Panorama Cafe

The ambiance is pretty romantic, but lack of music and full of mosquitoes (somehow they are attracted by me and I hate them). Okay, perhaps that's the reason why people stop coming? Idk, anyway that's my first impression.

It even takes a while to get the waiter's attention from afar (they don't seem very attentive to customer.. wait do they actually noticed our presence?).

We ordered our food and drinks in flash. A combination of local and Western food.

The food and drinks are so-so. Nothing wow. Basically we are just disappointed by the online reviews. Some claimed that the cafe serves good satays, but it was out-of-stock when we were there (sad case).

They didn't even bother to give us a receipt, and I loss track on how much we spent for this dinner. :/

Is it worth to go all the way to Bukit Panorama for the view and romantic ambiance? I wouldn't recommend that, but if you insist, that's totally up to you. :')

[Terengganu] Relaxing East Coast 5D4N Getaway Day 4.2 Pantai Penarik●Masjid Kristal●Chinatown Market

Terengganu Relaxing East Coast 5D4N Getaway

May 30, 2018 (Wednesday)

Pantai Penarik

From Kuala Besut Jetty to Pantai Penarik takes an hour car drive, and it is totally worth the visit! If you come with family and kids, definitely a nice place to hang out, especially during weekends.

Pantai Penarik, one of the most beautiful beaches in Terengganu, has this serene and breathtaking beautiful beach that stretches for miles! (and it's for free, no entrance fee needed YAY) You just ought to at least drop by here to admire its beauty.

Hyeon Travel Journal; Pantai Penarik

There are many restaurants located along the beach and they even set up various "photo booth stations", i.e. swings, benches and small rest houses. Absolutely Instagram-worthy!

Hyeon Travel Journal; Pantai Penarik

Hyeon Travel Journal; Pantai Penarik

It was a sunny day with wind. So it's like very comfortable. Probably because it's Ramadan whereby the restaurants remain closed until 3PM, there barely has any people at the beach, except four of us (and some passing-by goats). Like seriously. It was kinda cool actually. :)

Masjid Kristal (Crystal Mosque)

From Pantai Penarik to Masjid Kristal is another 1 hour drive. As for this one, if you are not really an architecture-lover, perhaps you can skip this itinerary.

We came here because it says that it is one of the most beautiful mosque in Malaysia. Well, it is kinda fascinating by the outlook, but the truth is the building itself sure is lacking some maintenance and refurnishing work to be done.

Hyeon Travel Journal; Masjid Kristal (Crystal Mosque)

Chinatown Market

From Masjid Kristal to Chinatown Market is about 20 minutes drive.

Demographically per say, the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia has stronger Malay culture, and in result, you can rarely spot Chinese restaurants and stores.

However, the table turned when you arrived at Chinatown Market, or they call it "Kampung Cina Terengganu" (Chinese Village, Terengganu).

Hyeon Travel Journal; Chinatown Market Terengganu

It's really interesting to find the shops with vintage signboards. This view is hardly seen in the cities nowadays.

Hyeon Travel Journal; Chinatown Market Terengganu

Not only the signboards, but also the building itself. It feels like we are walking into time tunnel, heading back to the 80s.

As we are strolling down the street, we realized there are numerous paintings and artworks embedded in the surroundings. (Like Easter eggs!) Somewhat it reminds me of Penang.

Particularly, if you wish to know where does the World Heritage Lane located, it's easier to locate Star Anise Cafe. You can spot the wall paintings of the 7 Wonders just across the street.
