The Saem | 더샘
Hello everyone! :)
Finally I am going to sit down and breakdown with you my all-time favourite concealer series from The Saem.
In fact, I am more of a "concealer person" than a "foundation person". Especially when you want to achieve a light and fresh makeup-look.
Speaking of its packaging, the concealers are filled in sturdy transparent plastic containers with black caps.
As for the tip concealers, the applicator is attached to the cap (as below). The tip is slightly slanted for easy application.
Now I am going to show you the swatches for the liquid concealers.
From the close-up shot below, you can tell the texture is not too watery - just the creamy nice texture for easy blending.
Notice the pink brightener, isn't the color dreamy?
Moving to the pot concealer, the texture is thicker and drier compared to the previous.
In return, it has higher coverage.
Join me now as I show you how lazy people do makeup! :p
For liquid concealer, what I usually do is to apply it directly on targeted spots (i.e. blemishes, acne scars, redness around my nose).
Then take your blending sponge. Make sure you dampen it nicely. Currently I am using Blending Pearl (Black) from Breena Beauty. It is "Made in Malaysia" and the quality is GOOOD!!!
Notice the difference!!! (as above)
Do I need to say more? :D
(please elaborate a little bit?)
Okay. From the photo above it might be unclear, but in fact the blemishes are not entirely concealed after application. However, at least they are less obvious to see/spot from a distance.
Bear in mind, the liquid concealer is NOT in full coverage. Just nice to blur out what you don't want to show ;)
I am not a makeup professional, but what I understand is that different type of concealer offers different level of coverage.
For instance, if you have an open acne scar, perhaps you might consider pot concealer/stick concealer.
Here I am going to do a short demonstration.
Currently my only concealer brush is Brush110 Dual Concealer from Etude House.
I have no complain on this as it is fairly affordable and it does the job.
To use, get some of the product using the flat concealer brush by directly dipping it into the pot concealer (as below).
Do your first swatch on your hand to get rid of excess. You DO NOT want to see thick concealer patches everywhere on your face (heh).
With little product on the concealer brush, stamp it on specific spots which need extra touch (as below).
Use the same concealer brush and work on/blend the edges, leave the middle part - until it is completely blended into your entire face makeup.
Meanwhile, let me complete with the rest of my face makeup before I show you the highlighter/brightener. :)
Personal ranking for the above products are: liquid concealer > pot concealer > brightener.
The liquid concealer is an absolute HIT! If you are a makeup beginner (like me), do do do try out this amazing road shop liquid concealer. The result is absolutely promising!
For the Cover Perfection Tip Concealer series, there are 5 shades available at the moment: 01 Clear Beige, 1.5 Natural Beige, 02 Rich Beige, Contour Beige and Brightener.
In fact, I don't use pot concealer often unless for photo-shooting purpose. There are a looong way to hit the pan. (><''') It requires a little bit more technique in using pot concealer. It's either a big hit, or a miss (obvious patches everywhere, failed to blend in with the face makeup).
As for the brightener, honestly I don't like it. Instead of giving luminous shiny aura that reflects natural light, it presents as a layer of white cast, that just sits on top of the makeup, not easy to blend in. Too bad because I really love the pink shade... :c

Why do you need so many kinds of concealer? o.OI am not a makeup professional, but what I understand is that different type of concealer offers different level of coverage.

Application - Cover Perfection Tip Brightener
I am not gonna lie. I am still figuring out how to use this Tip Brightener.
The same liquid texture works wonder for concealer, but it becomes tricky when it comes to brightener. :/
For highlighter, I would much prefer a more liquid and light texture to create the most natural aura.
Anyway. Herein I am using Edge Makeup Sponge from Holika Holika. Edge makeup sponges are easier to create the diagonal trace, across from apple cheeks to nose sides.
...And here's the end result!!! (>.<)
Verdict
Personal ranking for the above products are: liquid concealer > pot concealer > brightener.

[Review] The Saem - Pure Natural Snail
Hello everyone! :)
The spotlight of our mask sheet review today is the Pure Natural Snail from The Saem.

| The Saem's Pure Natural Snail | 더샘 퓨어 내추럴 달팽이 |
I got 2 of these as free gift when I purchased at one of their local stores in Myeongdong, South Korea. Right away I tried one when I was travelling. It didn't really amazed me on the spot (@@). So I brought the other one back home with me.
...Not until I decided to use the second one last week. It changed my whole opinion on this mask sheet. (eyes rollingggg O.O)
As usual, I left my mask sheets in the fridge in order to get that cooling effect when apply on face. ;)
After removing the mask sheet from the packet, it really has an excess amount of essence left inside. I put the excess essence in a travelling press-bottle, and I was able to use it to apply on my full face for 4~5 times!
So we talked about snail mask sheet before. This is nothing much new to most of us. Snail mucus provides good concentrated moisturizing and nourishing effect.
Apparently the size of the mask sheet itself is a little bigger for me, but I was very much impressed by its instant and lasting moisturizing effect. It lasts for more than 24 hours, until the night after. *~*
Well, it isn't about the snail mucus anyway. (I'm not going after that) The same product might has different effect on different people. I read that some people don't have good feelings about this product. It's okay. :)
For me, I think it is worth the try, if you could get a free sample or buy in individual pieces. Just avoid buying in bulk before trying out the product :)

[Review] The Saem - Saemmul Real Tint 01. Red
Merry Christmas everyone! :)
To add a little more "redness" to this special day, I am reviewing Saemmul Real Tint shade no. 1 Red from The Saem. Fyi I really fancy red full-lips makeup, just like Taylor Swift's. But of course, this lip makeup is not easy to be pulled-off (furthermore I'm just an amateur).
Well absolutely, first thing first, you need to get yourself the right shade of red. Since we have different lips color, it might be a "trial and error" when finding the right shade for you. Don't be afraid of trying. Just enjoy the process! :D
So, lipstick or lip tint, which one better? It's up to you :D
What I have here today is a lip tint (or, also known as "lip stain"). Theoretically, it is less hassle than lipstick while giving you a quick touch of long lasting color and don’t need to worry about reapplying frequently. Moreover, they are also been highly promoted for its lightweight texture which is perfect for daily wear which you can have a wash of color without feeling wearing too much of product.
The Saem is rather well-known for its creamy concealer (I will paste the link here when it's ready). Despite the fact, I am going to review their lip tint product today. Actually, this Real Tint product line is considered as the cheapest lip tint of the store. It is only sold for RM15 on Althea.kr!
As shown above, it has a long applicator with a slanted-tip. The volume of the product is not mentioned on the packaging. I measured the length of the product with a ruler, and it is about 10.8cm.
The formula is rather watery, so you have to apply 2~3 layers to get the colour (shown below). But for the same reason, it doesn't dry up your lips and end up looking dehydrated and cracked.
One thing I really like about this product is its pleasant fruit punch scent/flavour, which always reminds me of cherry grape juice.

Overall, considering all the aspects, I would say it worth the purchase, because of its color payoff and price. What I don't like about is its watery texture, which ultimately causes the colour to fade too quickly. However, the tint stain (lighter shade) is very lasting.
If you prefer lightly flushed lip color (when you’re not into pigmented lip look), this should be a good choice of daytime stain.

Like any kind of cleansing water, it is light-weighted and mild when applied on skin. It doesn't have any kind of smell/scent, even it mentioned the word "green tea". (opened the lid and sniffed again) Nope, no scent at all.
I bought it at the road shop during my trip to Korea last September. It was KRW5,500 (somewhere around/less than RM22). It is considered a cheaper price compared with other brands.
Let's try how is its cleansing power, shall we? :)
Here I have my full make-up with mascara and lip product applied.
So I fully saturated the cotton pads with the product, and see how many it takes to remove all the make-up.
Here's the first wipe. Can you see the mascara product? Not bad, I would say.
And finally, it seems like with 3 cotton pads I can get 99% of make-up products cleaned. Mild and soothing, yet do what it claims. Good product, affordable price.

Tip #1 : Press or stay your cotton pad/wipes for a few seconds on your eye lids before wiping off you eye make-up for much effective removing process.
