[Review] Klairs - Midnight Blue Calming Cream

Hello everyone! :)

This product has been featured in my Insta-story for multiple times, and finally the time for me to share this product with you on the blog!

Review; Klairs' Midnight Blue Calming Cream

Klairs' Midnight Blue Calming Cream has been my favourite moisturizer for the past 6 months (and counting).

Do you want to know why I'm in love with this product? Read on to find out!

I must confess that I really buy the idea of "blue calming cream". So when I finally got my hands on the product, I can't help but feeling amazed - its calming properties, consistency and soothing color.. everything.

What product is this?

Klairs' Midnight Blue Calming Cream is a gentle cream that provides comfort to calm and soothe skin sensitivity rapidly. Its star ingredient is Guaiazulene, a natural component extracted from chamomile oil.

Especially recommended for oily, acne prone skin, sensitive skin and treatment after sun exposure.

What are the key ingredients and their functions?

Guaiazulene is a dark blue crystalline hydrocarbon and derivative of azulene, the blue colored constituent of chamomile oil. It is approved by the FDA as a color additive in beauty products. Proven to be effective in calming skin redness.

Centella Asiatica Extract is especially beneficial for improving skin elasticity, boosting antioxidant activity around wounds, strengthening the skin and increasing blood circulation.

Ceramide 3 helps to form skin's barrier and retain skin moisture. It also protect skin against environmental irritants.

Argan Oil is commonly used as a skin moisturizer to hydrate and soften skin. Not only it is high in vitamin E and fatty acid content, its easily absorbed, non-greasy and non-irritating properties make it an ideal ingredient to give skin a natural boost.

The product comes in a sturdy glass container with a plastic spatula (above).

I truly admire its sleek and minimalist, black and white packaging.

Product description is printed in both English and Korean on the product.

Texture and Scent

Although the cream itself is thick and creamy, but not oily and greasy. It has a spreadable consistency and quick skin absorption properties which I enjoy using.

As you can see (below), the cream has this calming pastel blue hue to it. I find it "mental-healing", such a pretty mind-soothing colour.

Knowing that it is free from artificial scent, it still surprise me to find that it doesn't have any scent at all. Added points to that!

Application

As suggested by Klairs the brand itself, the cream is recommended to use as the last step of the routine. Apply a small amount to areas of sensitivity or irritation, and gently tap in to allow full absorption.

Review; Klairs' Midnight Blue Calming Cream

The Midnight Blue Calming Cream creates a thin, protective layer over the surface of the skin; hence, it is recommended to use as part of the night skincare routine to assist skin regeneration.

Best to use after pore care, intense skin treatments, long hours sun exposure, post shaving.

Personal Experience

I have been using Midnight Blue Calming Cream for more than 6 months now, so it's legit to say that the cream really helps in calming skin redness based on my observation throughout the period.

Just like Klairs' pointed out in their product description, Midnight Blue Calming Cream is made more for calming skin redness, rather than moisturizing. With that saying, I don't use it on a daily basis, unless my skin shows symptoms of irritation / redness.

Don't get me wrong. You can totally use it on a daily basis (if needed), but for my case, I rather apply a small adequate amount to targeted areas, so it kinda prolong the usage of the product (heh).
