[Review] Althea Korea - Milk Peel Cream Mask

Hello everyone! :)

In continuation of Althea Korea's exclusive brand products, today I will be sharing with you another skin exfoliator - it is the Milk Peel Cream Mask.

Review; Althea Korea's Milk Peel Cream Mask

Milk peel? Never heard anything like that before? Read on to find out how does it works on my skin! :)

I believe its baby blue packaging has swooned many hearts out there just right after the product is launched on the website. The blue and white bottle design is rather cute and cartoon-ish. It feels like it only exists in fairy tale (I mean, too good to be true).

Review; Althea Korea's Milk Peel Cream Mask

There are three (3) main ingredients in creating this Milk Peel Cream Mask:

  1. Milk protein extract (moisturizes and strengthen skin barrier);
  2. AHA & BHA (gentle chemical exfoliators); and
  3. Kaolin clay (detoxifies and draws out impurities from pores).

Speaking of Kaolin clay, it is well-known high quality skincare ingredients in purifying skin, and I'm really excited to try it out myself!

Once removed the cap on top, you will find a pump-head. And here's how it looks with one full pump (as below).

You may noticed that its clay-like soft and spreadable texture. To note, it has a strong powdery (baby powder) scent, which caught me in surprise. It's either you like it, or not (heh).

To use, dampen you skin and apply a layer on your skin evenly. Watch it self-bubbling until the rich whipped-cream lather forms (as below).

Leave it on for about 30-60 seconds. Then watch the forms start to shrink and the exfoliation takes place before rinsing away with warm water.

"Give your skin a big gulp of hydration with the refreshing peeling powers of Althea's Milk Peel Cream Mask!" -Althea Korea.

As this formula contains AHA and BHA extracts, it's like a double-ended sword in whisking away stubborn dead skin cells which sit on top of the skin surface.

Caesin protein from milk takes place as a balancer - in moisturizing and nourishing the skin to prevent the chemical exfoliators from ripping skin moisture.

Personally, I find it fascinating to see the forms shrink to flakes. There is this imaginary scene in my head whereby I see the stubborn dead skin cells being scooped and pushed upwards, away from skin surface.

However, I don't find this Milk Peel Cream Mask moisturizing enough as my skin feels tighten and squeaky-clean, even after rinsing it off with water. Personally I would quickly follow-up with the rest of my skincare routine by replenish skin moisture before the it further irritates the skin.

Make sure you keep the cap on tightly, otherwise the clay mask will harden and oxidize, eventually decreases its exfoliating effect.

  1. I gotta say though, this products isn't making great impression to me either. It does what it claims to be but the white cast that's left afterwards, I need Beauty Water to really cleanse it off.

    1. Good ideology and product ingredients.. unfortunately on the product deliverance, I would say. There are hit and miss. Guess it will leave end users to determine whether it suits for them, or not. :)
