[Review] A'PIEU - Edge Brow Pencil (Secret Formula) #Red Brown

It's been a while since I shared my last review on brow pencil.

Let's have a look at my current brow pencil, shall we? :D

I have been using this brow pencil for quite some time now. More than 6 months as I usually interchange with other brow products at the same time.

Particularly, this brow pencil caught my attention as I really adore it's design and formula.

Product Breakdown

Like most of the brow pencil products from road shops, it has the brow pencil and spoolie brush attached to each end (as above).

Nothing really special about the spoolie brush. Meanwhile, the brow pencil itself it about 2.5cm long! Quite a generous amount I would say.

With just one swipe over the skin, the color is not quite shown, but it gives a very light and natural shade of brow hair.

Is the color to light? No worries, just do a few swatches on top of it until you are satisfied with the outcome.

The formula is rather creamy which makes it super easy to blend. At the same time, be careful of smudges too!

What most amazed me is this...

The brow pencil is designed in a very unique edgy shape (as shown and drawn above). I have never see something like that before!

Just by looking, it might seemed impossible to draw you brows using this funny shape; however, it turned out I'm so wrong.

A’PIEU's Edge Brow Pencil created in hexangular shape, making it possible to draw in details just by adjusting the angles of edges to your eyebrow shape. Particularly, it is easier to draw arched brows.

If you have thick eyebrows (like me), this jumbo size brow pencil makes it faster to fill in the brows.

Nah, that's not you, but you rather want to do strokes? Simply slant the brow pencil so that the sharp edge touches your skin. There you go.

Oh no! What if the brow pencil is blunt and where can I get a hexangular shape sharpener???

Don't worry, you got it covered as the product has a built-in sharpener design just for the hexangular shape!

Where is it? Why can't I see it???

Go to the end where the spoolie brush is attached. Notice carefully as there is a point where you can un-screwed the spoolie brush (as below). And there goes the sharpener!

You can interchange the spoolie brush and the sharpener, depending on which one you are using. Simple, right?

Personal Experience

This brow product has been my daily makeup tools for several months now. I really enjoy its creamy formula and control on drawing the brows.

[Review] A'PIEU - Silk Blanket Mask [Silver] (Cocorico Edition) + First Impression

Having tried Gold Foil sheet mask (here), how can we say no to Silver Foil sheet mask? NO WAY! Bring it on! :D

A'PIEU's Silk Blanket Mask [Silver] (Cocorico 2017 Edition) | 어퓨 비단이불 마스크 [은 실] (코코리코 에디션) | 23g

In French, "Cocorico" is the onomatopoeia (the formation of a word from a sound associated with what is named) for rooster crow, in which we say "cock-a-doodle-doo!" in English. (interesting fact) The theme is perfectly depicted from the chicken family portrait as cover. (sooo cute)

"A'PIEU Silk Blanket Mask is made with 'skin gel' sheet which has an excellent adherence and absorption power. The sheet printed and coated with special silver pattern helps hold in active ingredient and prevent its evaporation as well." -A'PIEU

Active ingredients to mention are:-

1. Niacinamide (whitening ingredient) which provides brightening care;
2. Albumen (5,000ppm) from egg whites which provides pore care;
3. Hydrolyzed silk protein (1,000ppm) which provides moisture;
4. Goat milk extract which provides moisture;
5. Peony extract which helps brighten up skin tone;
6. Silver extract (1,000ppb) which helps brighten up skin tone; 

...and ultimately promoting a clear and transparent skin.

In simple, this sheet mask is targeting on skin moisturizing and brightening

Unboxing

WOW, I was shocked upon noticing the shining effect from the foil mask!!! Didn't see that coming.

The silver foil printing is all over the sheet mask. For some reasons, it reminds me of mermaid (it resembles fish scales in some ways hehehe) :p

There is this artificial scent to it, but very subtle.

My first impression went from "WHOAAAAA" to "whoa".

Why?

I was sooo excited when I see the bling, but just because of it, the texture of the entire sheet mask is rough and rigid (not-stretchable).

As you can see (below), the sheet mask itself couldn't cling onto my skin fittingly (you can notice the clear edges), causing discomfort. :c

After 20 minutes when I removed the sheet mask, my skin does feel hydrated, just not those intensive hydrating type (if you know what im sayin).

Hit or Miss? I would say it was a miss.

I wanted to love this product, but due to my great concern over comfortableness, I just couldn't. T.T 

In fact, I bought this sheet mask on Althea (I don't think it is available as I am writing this).

[Review] A'PIEU - Triple Wear Foundation SPF20 / PA++

Hello there! :)

Finally we are back with makeup product review! (I knowww, it's been a long time....T_T)

Since I am just an amateur in makeup, it is a bit tricky for me to deliver makeup product review, TBH. Either should I just show the shades/colors, or should I also include my makeup look with the product(s). .......which eventually I gave up (the idea/thought, for now) cause I don't have time...(?)

Today I'm going to show you the liquid foundation I am using currently, from A'PIEU. Let's get started~! ^_^

A'PIEU's Triple Wear Foundation SPF20 / PA++ No.4 Beige | 어퓨 트리플웨어 파운데이션 4호 베이지 | 35g

The fact is, I wasn't much into A'PIEU at first. Until I watched YouTuber YoonCharmi did her makeup in her car, when she recommended Triple Wear Foundation to Ssinnim (see below). [Side fact, YoonCharmi herself did a collaboration with A'PIEU and has a full range of makeup product line under her name. She has the full right to promote the brand, but we, the consumers, can decide ourselves whether to buy or not, of course.]

Rewind 3 months back. Just so happened I saw A'PIEU store was having "BEST 1+1" promotion on Gmarket. The original price for the Triple Wear Foundation is KRW10,000 (about RM40+), and since it was under the "Buy 1 Free 1" category, immediately I added it into the cart. 

There are 5 shades available (see below). Initially I was thinking of purchasing No. 3 Warm Ivory, however, the shade quickly went out of stock, so ended up I went for No. 4 Beige. [Fun fact: This is the darkest shade I ever bought. (heh)]

At this point, you might think, does No. 4 Beige actually suits my skin tone? Let's try it out and see.

From the photo, you can see I suffer discoloration/redness especially around my eye areas, both sides of nose area and chin.

Now, this is the amount you can get from 1 pump of the product (see above). As you can see, the texture is rather light and watery.

In order to give a contrast comparison, I am going to apply the liquid foundation on one side of my face (as above).

Then blend the product gently in tapping motion with a dampened makeup sponge for better fitting result (as above).

Look at the result (as above)! Though it is watery, the concealing power is absolutely amazing! As for the same reason, it is less burden to apply on full face and less likely to cake up. Yet another surprise for me is, the shade No. 4 Beige isn't what we expected it should be after all! (what...what is happening here? O.O)

Well, the truth is, the shade is slightly darker than the normal shade I use (No. 21). In fact, it is a bit yellowish if seen with naked eyes (sorry it doesn't show from my phone camera @@). I would say, the shade here No. 4 Beige is equivalent to shade No. 23.

I have been using this liquid foundation for several months now. Not only I find its opaque classy glass packaging cute, I also love the application and the finishing result. I have combination skin, and yet it lasts throughout the day, as long as you don't sweat much. Preferably recommended to normal to dry skin.

If you want better and higher coverage, this product is buildable by applying another layer on top on it. All you just need is to be careful with the amount to ensure it won't cake up later of the day.

Would I repurchase? It is definitely a good deal, but I guess I won't for the time being since I just bought two. Let's say if I am going to repurchase, I think I will go for No. 3 Warm Ivory instead, for a try :D

[Review] A'PIEU - True Matte Lip Stick RD03 Hailey

Happy Chinese New Year to you everyone! :D

To add a little more redness into your life, I'm going to share with you a red lip product which I fall for recently. This is a lip product from one of the Korean roadshops - A'PIEU. You might not heard much of it, but I bet you will be hearing more of it in the future :)

A'PIEU True Matte Lip Stick RD03 Hailey | 어퓨 트루 매트 립스틱 RD03 헤일리

Not sure about you, but I am pretty much a fan of its packaging - classic black with minimal design, even the lipstick case has the "matte-touch" feeling. They even come in a hidden/secret design - magnetic cap lock. There are magnet at one end of lipstick cap and one end of the lipstick case - to keep the cap in place. Very interesting.

As for the colour, it is more like a tone-down red, like Korean spicy sauce gochujang (as below). It has silky and fitting matte-finish, just like it written on the packaging (as below). I really really like this colour just at first sight, when I saw it online on Gmarket, and I didn't regret purchase it at all. It delivers the colour beautifully, seriously.

Since it is a matte-finish lipstick, bear in mind it might enhances your lip wrinkles/lines. Make sure you fill up these tiny line gaps patiently. This is something which expected from matte-finish lip product. Not much of a concern thou.

Unlike lip tint, most of the lipsticks out there are easily transferable (as below). I usually need to reapply it after meal, since it wears off too easily. I would said, the biggest drawback. 

I bought it from Gmarket for KRW10,000 (about RM39.80; excluding shipping fee). Quite affordable, since A'PIEU is targeting more towards students/teenagers/youngster group.

Overall, I really like my first A'PIEU lipstick. The colour is very pigmented. The matte-velvety-finished is what I'm looking for. The packaging is simple and classy. The price is affordable. The only drawback would be not lasting.

If you are a fan of red lipstick, but would prefer one which is more wearable on a daily basis, I would suggest and recommend this product to you :)
