- Address : Batu 4, 92, Jalan Pasaraya. (opposite Tai Chung Supermarket)

Afternoon tea like a local? Head up to Kim Fung Market at Mile 4 and you'll be surprised. What time is it now? It's only 3.30PM and there are so many people having tea break like nobody's business (heh).

My favourite is the fried white meehoon and fish cake. Well dumplings and fried carrot cake are delicious too! :9 Best of all, they don't cost a lot (whoohoo!).

You just can't miss seafood when you're at Sandakan. Keep that in mind.

This restaurant is built above the sea. You have to walk through sea village by wood bridge in order to reach this restaurant.

Once you're at the end of the bridge, you will find two seafood restaurants side by side. The one we went is on the right. There is a wall of Hong Kong artists photos who came to visit this restaurant in the past.

There are aquariums for fish display. They are more like a pet because they are rare species.

And there are aquariums for fresh catch.

When I said we are eating above the sea, I'm not joking at all. :')

We reached there around 7:30PM and there weren't much customers dining there. They do have a huge dining area though.

The staff told us that the restaurant is usually crowded with tourists who came by travel buses. But apparently, not today, which I don't mind. :')

And yes, there is a grill bar (as below).

Here's what we ordered for dinner! :9

We ordered fried squid too, but I forgot to take picture of it (opsss). Anyway, the fried squid wasn't what I expected. Too much flour.

I particularly enjoyed the prawns. They are big and juicy. To note, the prawn shell is very thin, which makes it harder to remove. Overall, they were delicious.

That's how we spent our first day in Sandakan. Food, food and MORE FOOD! Are you ready for more? :p
