[Event] Earth Hour Special : Foot Reflexology In The Dark by Sabah Society For the Blind & Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu

Hello everyone! :)

How did you spend Earth Hour this year?

In spite Earth Hour has been a global movement for the past decade, I realised the awareness is not being strongly enforced to our community today. Little did we know that our energy consumption  today have impact to the environment tomorrow (and the planet, in the bigger picture). Yes, we are talking about sustainable living environment for our future generations.

Knowledge is the key to human advancement; awareness must be raised among the community and someone has to take the step.

With much grateful heart, I was able to join my fellow blogger friend, Myra, to attend the Earth Hour event held by Promenade Hotel at Kota Kinabalu. This year marks the 8th Earth Hour in consecutive for the hotel group.

Besides switching off all non-essential lights in the premise (from hotel's exterior, lobby, cafe, lounge and restaurant), there was a special one-day event to make Earth Hour even more fun and meaningful. In collaboration with Sabah Society for the Blind, they brought "Foot Reflexology in the Dark" (gee, who thought of that!).

We arrived at Promenade Hotel at 6PM, then headed straight to Mawar's Room where the event is held.

As part of charity, they are collecting RM30 for per session of 30 minutes.

It's been a long time since my last foot massage. I remember me at the edge of crying while getting foot massages last times. However, I find myself quite enjoy the "pain" as it helps to relax pressure points and I felt my body lighter after each session.

Honestly, I am hyped up when Myra told me about this event! :D Here am I, getting foot massage, photo taken by Myra.

Meet Azmi! Maybe my pain tolerance is higher nowadays, surprisingly I didn't feel much pain. I did feel my foot is numb as he pressed certain pressure points, but that's because my blood circulation is not smooth as it should be. Okay, I need to take note on that. :')

What a relaxing time to unwind after a hectic week!

(p/s: Sabah Society for the Blind is having booth for foot massage at Bukit Padang everyday, excepts public holidays. Do visit them someday!)

After the massage, our next stop is to Promenade Cafe to enjoy our dinner buffet.

To be honest, it's been a while since I came here. I still remember my dad brought our family here for their buffet. Those were precious childhood memories.

There is a wide food variation: from local cuisine, fresh seafood, sushi, desserts.. and even an outdoor BBQ for freshly roasted meat.

Unfortunately, I couldn't have the most out of this feast because I just got my teeth braces a month ago - it's difficult for me to chew or munch food at the moment.

Nonetheless, I had potato salad, prawn and vegetable soup - which I finished them all. :9

Here were Myra and me at the Promenade Cafe dining area.

It was such a meaningful and fulfilling event. I am grateful to be part of this (thank you unnie). Through this event, let us be constantly reminded to not take things as granted. Lights off whenever not in use. 💡 Let's incorporate it into our daily life. Don't make it an one-hour event, but everyday everywhere.

Guess that's all from me now.
