5D4N Getaway to Manila! 马尼拉首旅

Bibingka de Lipa (famous for local desserts).

Continue from previous post, we are still lingering inside Robinsons Place Manila. Bibingka de Lipa sells various types of local desserts, definitely a go-to place to try out local flavours.

One of Philippines local must-try dessert is the Buko Pie (literally means "coconut pie"). You can find these at Bibingka de Lipa! Very convenient.

Their pricing is reasonable. Around P20 ~ P50. The portion is big too!

We ordered 1 Buko Pie, 1 Kesong Keso and 1 Salted Egg Keso. The staff kindly reheated the pies before serving us. What a thoughtful gesture! :)

Personally, I'm very into the Buko Pie. Coconut flesh can be found inside the pie. Flavour is there. Sweet and salty at the same time. Something special which we can't find back in Kota Kinabalu.

The stall is located inside the mall. It's clean and convenient. Not sure for other shopping malls, but I do recommend you to try these out :)

Pablo (famous for cheese tarts).

Next stop, dessert again! (hahaha) Buckle-up, this is a food journey :D

Pablo's tart, like a piece of art, got its name from the inspirational artist Pablo Picasso. It is originated from Japan, and currently they have more than 9 flagship stores worldwide, including at 1 Utama Shopping Centre Old Wing Level 2 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and at Level 1 of Wisma Atria, Orchard Road, Singapore.

Living to its name, the exterior definitely is eye-catching. Can't wait to try out their cheese tarts! :9

Mini display (as below) to showcase their specialty. The signature is the classic Original Cheese tart, which is also the most popular among the three flavours (Matcha Cheese and Chocolate Cheese).

They are available in two sizes: mini tart and the iconic big 15-cm tart.

To try out all the flavours, we ordered half a dozen of assorted cheese tarts. I can't remember how much it costs exactly, the range is from P550 ~ P700. Super expensive, I know right.

Their takeaway paper is very cute though :')

Prior to this, we didn't know much about Pablo. So we don't have much expectation in mind.

No doubt, our favorite is the classic cheese tart, a deliciously soft, smooth and creamy texture that melts the very second in your mouth.

The crust compliments the velvety cream cheese nicely.

As I'm not a big fan of matcha and chocolate, I would say it's just so-so. The flavours are equally strong, but it isn't my type of cheese tart, that's all :)

It's good for a try. Besides cheese tarts, they also have baked bites, soft serve and smoothies. If you have recommendations, do leave a comment below and share with us! :)

-stay tuned for more!-
