[Review] Mamonde - Hibiscus Moisture Ceramide Light Cream

Hello everyone! :)

Today I will be sharing with you the highly raved skincare item from Mamonde, the Moisture Ceramide Light Cream.

Mamonde's Moisture Ceramide Light Cream | 50ml

I bought it after Liah Yoo recommended on her Youtube channel. Interested to know more about this product? Read on.

Ever since I returned from overseas, I noticed my skin get rougher and tends to be more sensitive. How I know? Redness. Overall, my skin condition looks rough and dull.

Then I learned about skin barrier after watching Liah Yoo's video (love her video, so detail in explanation!). By nature, our skin has this protective barrier to protect itself, and if the barrier is weaken, it will take longer than to recover from acne and rashes. It does make sense.

Hence, I was really convinced to search for functional skincare products that not only gentle on the skin, but also effective in rebuilding / reinforcing our natural skin barrier.

What is "ceramide"?

Ceramides are the kind of lipids that help form the skin's barrier and help skin retain moisture. Researches found that ceramides helps skin self-protect against environmental aggressors, such as irritants and pollution. Our body can produce ceramide itself, but if the ratio is off, it may lead to dryness, itching and irritation as our skin's barrier is compromised. (source)

Once you know about it, you will realised that this ingredient is widely found in skincare industry. Take a look yourself when you're at beauty counter next time. ;)

The product comes in a sturdy plastic container and a twist-able cap. Mamonde has various series of skincare lines which they categorised them by the flower series; and pink is the colour code for Hibiscus (or Hibiscus Syriacus).

Once opened the cap, the content looks like below. The light cream is white as snow.

As you can see (below), it melts (slightly) once it touched the skin and the texture is very spreadable.

At first, I thought this kind of cream texture will be too heavy for my normal to oily combination skin (to note, I'm very fond to watery cream previously).

To my surprise, it is neither heavy nor suffocating once applied on the skin. On the other hand, very easily absorbed by the skin. Once it has sink in, I can feel a bit stickiness on the surface - just the nice feeling that the skin is moistly plumped.

Here's how I'm incorporating the light cream in my morning and night skincare routine.

AM routine:
Toner > Serum > Moisture Ceramide Light Cream > Sunscreen

PM routine:
Makeup remover > Cleanser > Toner > Serum > Eye Cream > Moisture Ceramide Light Cream

As I'm aging, it is crucial for me to find a moisturizer that fits my skin condition, which is going to be more prone to dryness. I think this Moisture Ceramide Light Cream is the right texture for this season of time. Thanks to the cream that resembles our human skin structure, my skin adapts it almost instantly!

This product is available on Althea for RM92.
