[Review] Laneige - White Plus Renew Capsule Sleeping Pack

Hello everyone! :)

Today I wish to share with you my experience using Laneige's White Plus Renew Capsule Sleeping Pack.

Funny thing is, perhaps most of you don't recognise this packaging. I am as well confused. Anyone got the similar capsule sleeping pack as I? If you are the one, do say "hi" in the comment box below.

Anyway, I shall continue with the review and let's see if it's genuine.

Quite a careful spender, I often get my hands on samples or smaller size products before purchasing in full sizes.

I bought these Whitening Capsule Sleeping Pack in Bundle for RM36 on Hermo shopping site last year. Honestly I didn't even take heart while noticing the difference from the packaging which we familiar (below).

I thought, "perhaps that's the tester pack or something like that".

Until Myra (@myrabeautydiary) mentioned to me, then I clicked.

Great. So what was that? :')

As I was searching the internet for more info, then I came across a product line from Laneige, called Sleeping Ball. Their packaging is exactly the same as the "supposedly" White Plus Renew Capsule Sleeping Pack.

Do you think it is legit??? :/ Don't know for you, but I'm like 75% convinced that it is genuine.

Let's just put it aside and moving back to our review today.

The Whitening Capsule is presented in its unique White Planet in consistency which is also known as the Mochi Sleeping Pack. It consists of two components: (1) Brightening capsule (25%), (2) Water-Glow Gel (75%).

Presentation wise, it is quite an interesting way to showcase your product. It somewhat reminds me of those disposable contact lens packaging. Yeah, with this individual packaging, you can definitely pop-in a few of these capsules inside your travelling pouch and enjoy whitening facial mask wherever you go. Brilliant!

Next question. Why does it present the brightening capsule/ampoule in mochi-like and put it in the center of transparent moisturizing gel? And made us to do the stirring?? Is there any added-value in this presenting method? Nope, I don't know the reason and I really wanted to know badly... :/

To use, tear off the foil from the capsule (below).

Supposedly, if you purchase in box, it should come with a plastic spatula. Don't have a spatula? Don't worry. A disposable cotton bud can do the same job. Mix the brightening mochi with the moisturizing gel.

It will appear as opaque white texture when mixed properly (below).

Apply generously on your face and neck. Don't let the small packaging fool you. For me, even though I've applied a thick layer, the amount is still sufficient for 3x my face!

Then leave it for the night. Rinse off the next morning.

It does feel sticky right after you applied it on your skin because the moisturizing ampoule is sitting on top, waiting to be absorbed into the skin. Try to wait for like 5 minute to 10 minutes before going to bed - to avoid sticking on your pillow.

It does have a high-end skincare scent to it, but it bothers me less. Not overpowering.

According to the official description, one is recommended to use the whitening capsule sleeping pack 2 times a week to achieve skin tone-up / brightening. Of course, alongside with the whole Laneige whitening product line.

After using it for consecutive three nights, I pretty enjoy how it keeps my skin hydrated overnight and it didn't give me skin breakouts. I cannot attest on brighter skin, but overall I think it is a decent leave-on sleeping pack and I can imagine bringing it along in my future trips.

  1. heyya~ the only theory I have is: it's actually GWP item for LANEIGE Korea because I've seen some other products being repackaged solely for that especially trial and travel kits. Still, I'm glad you liking this as I do enjoy these very much. You probably knew this already but gonna point out anyway; this White Plus Renew line has been renewed to White Dew line. I'm so glad for that as WPR offered less hydration throughout the time when I actually used 3 rounds of this whole skincare line back in 2013-2015.
