[Review] ColourPop - Super Shock Shadow Hustle & Sequin

Hello everyone! :)

Today I am reviewing two eyeshadow colours from Colourpop, which are Hustle and Sequin respectively. Fyi Colourpop is originated from U.S.A. I get to know about this brand through one of my favourite YouTubers - HelloCatie. Since then, I really wanted to get these products. Finally, I got my first two Colourpop items two weeks ago from TaoBao, an online shopping platform.

Colourpop Super Shock Shadow - Hustle & Sequin

In terms of pricing, it is said to be USD5 each, which is equivalent to about RM20 each. Due to international shipping fee, it could easily costs up to RM25 each. However, it is said that Colourpop are best known for affordable yet good products (according to online reviews, and we shall see......). But one thing for sure, they offer a good range of colours.

As for packaging, its a simple white round casing with turn-able cap. They wrapped it tightly with the transparent wrapping paper to make sure the cap doesn't go loose. However, I read online review saying that these eyeshadows can easily dried up (I shall observe closely to see whether if its true). So, just in case, make sure you close the cap tightly after usage.

The colours I have here are Hustle - with matte finishing; and Sequin - with metallic finishing. Unfortunately, I don't like both of their textures; they seem chalky and difficult to work with (i.e. blending).

Let's see how these colours show on the skin, shall we?

From the first swatch, you can already see the different finish from both colours. Sadly, Hustle didn't come out nicely and darker as I thought it should be. No doubt, Sequin is a lovely pigmented color.

I wonder how the colours will look if I doubled up the swatches. Check out below:

From the outcome shown above, Sequin shows darker shade while doubled up the swatches (build-able); however, there isn't much difference for Hustle's case (oh my poor Hustle).

In terms of pigmentation, I would say Sequin has an upper hand; in terms of longevity, both colours are quite long wear compatible (up to 8 hours).

In conclusion, I am quite disappointed with this purchase, mainly because of the poor texture and inconsistent pigmentation (could it because the colours dried up? idk).
